95-02 Audi S4 Remote Programming Instructions
NOTE: A maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed (one at a time)
- Obtain and reprogram all remote transmittersNOTE: Existing remote transmitter memory positions will be overwritten
- Complete the following within 30 seconds, one remote transmitter at a time
- Manually lock driver’s door using spare key and using a slow smooth action
- Press and hold ‘lock’ and UNLOCK button for 4 seconds minimum
- Repeat above procedure to program remaining remote transmitters
- Switch ignition OFF
- Check each remote transmitter works correctly
If the above doesn’t work, try the following

- Switch ignition ON
- Manually lock driver’s door using key
- Using first remote transmitter, press UNLOCK button once (programs memory position 1)
- Alarm horn sounds once to indicate signal received
- Wait 6 seconds
- Press UNLOCK button once to confirm programming
- Vehicle unlocks. Programming mode deactivated
- Switch ignition OFF
- To program remaining remote transmitters into memory position 2, 3 and 4. Carry out the complete procedure below for each transmitter
- Switch ignition ON
- Manually lock driver’s door using key
- Press UNLOCK button at 1 second interval, as follows:
- Twice for memory position 2 (second key)
- Three times for memory position 3 (third key)
- Four times for memory position 4 (fourth key)
Alarm horn sounds once every time UNLOCK
- Wait 6 seconds
- Press UNLOCK button once to confirm programming
- Vehicle unlocks Programming mode deactivated
- Switch ignition OFFNOTE: Ignition MUST be switched OFF between reach remote transmitter programming procedure
