04-07 Buick Rainier Remote Programming Instructions
Program only when system malfunction, key added or replaced.
- Obtain all remote transmitters
- close all doors
- Insert key into ignition, do not turn ignition switch
- Press and hold door lock switch in the unlock position
- Switch ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF
- Release door lock switch
- System should now lock and unlock vehicle indicating programming mode activated
- Proceed as followsNOTE: Existing remote transmitter memory positions will be overwritten
- Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCk buttons on first remote transmitter for 15 seconds
- System will lock and unlock vehicle indicating remote transmitter programmed
- Repeat above procedure for each remote transmitter
- NOTE: A maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed
- Switch ignition ON to exit programming mode
- Check operation of all programmed remote transmitters
- Remote transmitters can also be programmed using diagnostic equipment
Immobilizer
When
- Any of the following:
- Ignition lock sensor
- Body control module (BCM)
- Engine control module (ECM)
- How – Switch ignition ON
- Crank engine. The engine will not start
- System LED will illuminate or flash
- After approximately 10 minutes system LED will switch OFF
- Switch ignition OFF
- Wait 5 seconds
- Switch ignition ON
- Crank engine. The engine will not start
- System LED will illuminate or flash
- After approximately 10 minutes system LED will switch OFF
- Switch ignition OFF
- Wait 5 seconds
- Switch ignition ON
- Crank engine. The engine will not start
- System LED will illuminate or flash
- After approximately 10 minutes system LED will switch OFF
- Switch ignition OFF
- Wait 5 seconds
- Start engine
- Switch ignition OFF
- Erase stored trouble codes
- NOTE: History trouble codes will self clear after 100 ignition switch ON/OFF cycles
- Replacement parts can also be programmed using diagnostic equipment
